ALVAO 26.1 - Downloads

Important notes

If you haven’t upgraded to the latest release for a while, please read carefully the Important notes for all the versions you’ve skipped before performing the upgrade. Follow any manual steps outlined in the instructions. These notes can be found on the download page of each version. For the version 25.3 and earlier, you will find the notes on the Release notes pages.

  • The Asset Management Collector application has been retired. Remove it from your Alvao Server before performing the upgrade. (T165912ALVAO)

  • ALVAO Discovery Agent - If you use an Agent version older than 25.x that doesn't support automatic updates, note the following:

    • The Agent generates scan files in new file format (with the .scan extension) which is not compatible with the older .cxm files. The Alvao Server cannot process data sent in remote mode by previous versions of the Agent. However, it can process the older .cxm files if you upload them manually using Objects - New object - Load scan. In on-premises installations, automatic loading of .cxm files is still supported.     • The Agent application’s UI has been retired and it now operates solely as a Windows service or a command‑line application. (T160967ALVAO)
    • In the case that you deploy the Agent using Group Policy (GPO), switch the GPO to MST file instead of the retired ADMX/ADML files.

  • ALVAO Software Asset Management - In the case that your Alvao Server is disconnected from internet and you update Software product library manually, beware that the library file has been renamed to swlib.bin.

  • ALVAO for Teams - in an on-premise setup, the latest version of ALVAO is required.

  • ALVAO DevOps Connectors - Azure DevOps Connector – Convert the retired BeginState, EndState, and WorkItemEndState settings to the new StatusMap setting. (T181721ALVAO)

  • The Autogenerated Asset Tree certified application has been retired. Use the new Object rules and Object organizational structure features instead. Both are part of the new ALVAO Asset Management Autopilot module.

  • ALVAO Endpoint Management Connectors - Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager Connector - go to Administration - Asset Management - Settings - MS SCCM Connections and update connection strings to the new format, e.g. Server=localhost;Database=CM-SITE;Integrated Security=True;Encrypt=True;TrustServerCertificate=True.

    The Administration Service connection option has been retired. The connector only supports direct database connection. (T165912ALVAO)

  • If you are using an older Google Analytics tracking ID (format UA-XXXXX-X), update to the new GA4 Measurement ID (format G-**** * ).
