Common features​

  • The visual style of the application has been aligned with the style of modern Microsoft 365 applications. (T183153ALVAO, T184008ALVAO)
    • User menu – Settings – View – Navigation bar - Show page names - new option added. (T186316ALVAO)
  • You can use the keyboard to navigate through the object (Objects) and service (Administration - Service Desk - Service) trees. (T166711ALVAO)
  • When you open a record panel by clicking a row in any grid, the panel now remains open even after filtering the grid or switching views. (T152186ALVAO)
  • Administration - Data queries
    • The data query SQL script is no longer limited to a single SELECT command but may contain temporary tables, variables etc.
    • Data query - to improve query performance, you can disable the computation of the result record count by turning of the new Show item count option. (T182186ALVAO)
  • Administration - Groups - the user groups provisioned from MS Entra (SCIM) are now imported along with their description text. (T155356ALVAO)
  • Administration – Settings – Microsoft Entra ID – the UX has been optimized as follows:
    • If no tenant is registered, the Add tenant page is displayed.
    • If exactly one tenant is registered, the Features page for that tenant is displayed.
    • If more than one tenant is registered, the tenant list is displayed. (T181413ALVAO)
  • Certified applications - you no longer need to install them manually, as they now install and update automatically. You only need to configure and enable them. (T167712ALVAO)

ALVAO Asset Management​

  • Objects page - Table mode - useful default table views for the most common asset manager use cases have been added. The default views are applied automatically only for new users. Existing users need to use the user menu - Settings - Settings backup - Restore default settings command to load the new default views. (T169998ALVAO)
  • Objects - Import CSV - now you can download a sample CSV file directly from the description of the command in the menu. (T184192ALVAO)
  • Administration - Asset Management - Object properties - obsolete system object properties (e.g., Pager, IP phone, Fax, etc.) have been transformed into custom properties, so you can manually delete them, if you like. (T169886ALVAO)
  • Administration - Data queries - the predefined Object log query (that you can create with the New data query command) has been optimized for faster execution. (T182186ALVAO)
  • Administration - Asset Management - Settings - General - Import user objects from Microsoft Entra ID option has been replaced by the Administration - Settings - Microsoft Entra ID - Features - Import users from Microsoft Entra ID - Create and update User objects. (T183093ALVAO)

ALVAO Service Desk​

  • News – the appearance of unread news has been unified with the appearance of unread ticket communication records, i.e., they are marked with the left vertical bar. Read news are no longer grayed but has normal text color. (T181851ALVAO)
  • Tickets – Ticket - Objects - Move objects - using this command, you can now move objects bound to the ticket directly on the Ticket page. To make this command more accessible on the other Tickets' page tabs, you can pin it to the command panel using the Administration - Service Desk - Proceses - Process - Workflow - (select ticket status) - Edit - Behavior - Pin commands - Move objects option.   • Administration – Settings – Advanced – Attachments.TotalSizeLimitKb - using this new setting, you can limit total size of all email attachments sent from Alvao. (T181428ALVAO)

  • Administration - Applications - Application - Scripts - Edit - the following features have been added to the script editor:
    • Autocomplete – the editor suggests class method and property names as you type.
    • Code check – code errors, warnings, and suggestions are underlined in red.

ALVAO Configuration Management​

  • The module has been enhanced with new cybersecurity & risk management features that enable you to manage risks associated with your assets, with the goal of minimizing the impact of potential incidents.

  • New Risk management default views have been added to the following tables in the application:

    The views contain information related to the risk management process. The default views are applied automatically for new users. Existing users need to use the user menu - Settings - Settings backup - Restore default settings command to load the new default views. (T183043ALVAO)

ALVAO DevOps Connectors​

The Azure DevOps Connector can now:

  • Synchronize the Alvao ticket status with the current Azure DevOps work item status, and vise versa.
  • Keep messages and attachments synchronized between both platforms to support effective collaboration.
  • Display the Open related Azure DevOps ticket command on the Ticket page of each synchronized ticket in Alvao, allowing users to open the related Azure DevOps work item directly.
  • Specify who will be designated as the reporter of the Azure DevOps work item. (T181721ALVAO)

ALVAO Discovery Agent​

  • The Agent generates files in the new format with the file extension .scan. (T160967ALVAO)
  • The Agent application's UI has been retired. It now operates solely as a Windows service or a command‑line application. (T160967ALVAO)
  • The Agent can use a proxy server to access the Alvao server over the internet. (T181312ALVAO)
  • Objects - Object - Properties tab - a new Alvao Agent last check-in property has been added to computer objects. It displays the date and time when the Agent last scanned the computer. (T183098ALVAO)

ALVAO Electronic Handover Forms​

  • When a user has handover forms awaiting signature, the Asset confirmation form automatically opens on the Home page, and a notification bar is shown on the My asset page. (T183162ALVAO)

ALVAO Inventory Audits​

  • The Asset check page has been replaced by the new Asset confirmation form, which automatically opens on the Home page when the user has any assets awaiting confirmation during an ongoing asset check. The user is also notified on the My asset page by a notification bar. (T183162ALVAO)
  • Administration - Asset Management - Settings - the Web asset check page has been renamed to Asset check.
    • You can choose whether users responsible for each specific asset will participate in an asset check, along with asset managers.
    • An email notification about starting web asset check can be sent automatically.
    • You can now use the new [$MyAssetPageUrl$] variable in the email notification template in place of a link to the Asset confirmation form. (T183162ALVAO)

ALVAO Service Desk AI Assistant​

  • Let the AI Assistant send service managers and solvers a new daily summary of service ticket updates. (T182719ALVAO).

ALVAO for Teams​

The bot can:

  • Search through news and your assets. (T183095ALVAO)
