AutomaticDeviceWarrantyDiscovery application

This application automatically updates the Warranty expiration object property of Dell computers with the information retrieved from the Dell TechDirect API.

Installation and setup​

  1. Request the Dell TechDirect API client_id and client_secret values from the Dell support service.

  2. Go to Administration - Settings - Advanced and enter the obtained values into settings:

    • DellWarrantyApi.ClientId
    • DellWarrantyApi.ClientSecret

  3. Go to Administration – Applications, select the Automatic Device Warranty Discovery application, and enable it using the Enable command.

Using application​

The application automatically once a day updates the Warranty expiration property of every object with Manufacturer property containing word Dell and the Serial number property is not empty.

For troubleshooting, check the Diagnostics log.
