Installation

Setting up ALVAO SaaS

  2. In Streamer, go to the Security tab and set Require additional password to connect to the desired option.
  3. Set up an API token by clicking Account settings – WEB API Tokens – Create API tokens. Select all options, copy the token, and ensure it is enabled on the same page.

In ALVAO:

  1. Go to AdministrationApplications and select the Splashtop Connector application.
  2. Configure application settings: Splashtop.Token – enter the token created in previous steps.
  3. Enable the application.

Importing devices from Splashtop

The connector periodically retrieves information from Splashtop and updates the corresponding computer objects in Alvao.

Alvao objects are matched with Splashtop devices using the following identifiers, in order:

  • Splashtop device ID
  • BIOS serial number
  • Hostname
  • Serial number

A unique match based on at least one of these values is required.

If no matching Alvao object is found, a new object is created in the Imported objects folder in the object tree. Review this folder regularly and move objects to appropriate locations in the object tree. Alvao automatically chooses the best-fitting object type for newly created objects. If necessary, you can change the type afterward.

The connector updates the following computer object properties:

  • BIOS serial number
  • Hostname
  • Manufacturer
  • RAM size (GB)
  • Serial number
  • Splashtop device ID
  • Total storage capacity (GB)

These properties are automatically added to the computer object templates during the initial run of the connector. They are also added to the default computer object type. If you plan to use some other object types with this connector, add these properties to them manually.

Starting unattended session

To initiate a session to control a remote computer without its user assistance, go to Alvao - Objects - select a computer object, and choose ... - Start remote Splashtop session. This opens Splashtop Business App and starts a session with the selected computer.

The session start is automatically logged in the Object - Log tab.

You can also use the Object - Open in Splashtop command to open the Splashtop computer page.

Starting attended support

To provide support to a user by connecting to a remote computer from a support ticket in Alvao, go to Tickets - select the user's support ticket, and choose the Request Splashtop session via Teams command. This starts an MS Teams chat with the ticket requester and sends an initial message with connection instructions. When the user replies with the 9-digit session code, open Splashtop Business App, click the SOS icon, select the user's computer, and enter the 9-digit session code.

The session start is automatically logged in the Object - Log tab.
