Common features​

  • Many visual improvements have been made across the web application, including adding icons to pop-up menus, and matching the background color of the application header to the color of the main command menu on the left. (T200306ALVAO)

  • Power BI reports – Users can load data into Power BI reports using Microsoft Entra ID authentication. (T198755ALVAO)
  • Sign in page - When forms authentication is used in an on-premises setup, the Sign in with Microsoft button has been added for users who authenticate with Microsoft Entra ID. (T201686ALVAO)
  • DatabaseDeploy - When a new Azure SQL Database is created, its CATALOG_COLLATION is set to the DATABASE_DEFAULT value. (T176883ALVAO)

ALVAO Asset Management​

  • The Objects command and page have been renamed to Assets. (T200306ALVAO)
  • Assets - Object
    • Move - the Move to field is automatically populated with the most recently used value. (T197156ALVAO)
    • When deleting an object (or moving it to the recycle bin) that has a responsible person or is itself a responsible person (established by the Person responsible for asset object property), you can now easily remove the responsibility and proceed with deletion. (T202334ALVAO)
    • Properties tab - Visual improvements are available in Insider preview. (T200306ALVAO)

ALVAO Service Desk​

  • Tickets
    • Popup windows for commands have been replaced with in-page modal forms. (T196017ALVAO)
    • Ticket - Assign/Move to another service/New ticket - Improvements have been made to assigning tickets to solvers:
      • If the selected solver is out of the office or will be out of the office within the next 8 hours, a notification box displays the details under the input field, including the solver's automatic replies configured in Microsoft Outlook. (T194030ALVAO)
      • The solver drop-down menu indicates the solvers' availability based on their Microsoft Outlook calendar and automatic replies, as well as Microsoft Teams Shifts. (T200235ALVAO)
    • New ticket/Move to another service - When selecting a service via the ... form, expandable service folders are no longer grayed out; clicking a folder now only expands or collapses it. (T197753ALVAO)
    • Visual and functional improvements to the Tiles view and the Ticket page are available in Insider preview. (T200306ALVAO)
  • User menu - Settings - Out of office – The new Sync with Microsoft Outlook automatic replies option automatically sets the user's out-of-office status in Alvao based on their automatic replies in Microsoft Outlook. (T194030ALVAO)

    • Service Desk
      • Operating hours - New operating hours - Exclude public holidays - More regions are available through the searchable input field. Public holiday data is automatically updated online. (T193649ALVAO)

      • Processes - New process - The new Duplicate existing process field allows you to create a new process by copying an existing process. You can also use the new Duplicate command on the Processes page. (T200194ALVAO)

ALVAO Discovery Agent​

  • The computer object's Last scan date property shows when the computer was last scanned. (T197150ALVAO)
  • You can add HW scan detail and SW scan detail commands to the Object page to easily view scan details. (T197151ALVAO)
  • The Agent fills the new optional AD domain object property with the computer's Active Directory domain name if available. (T202504ALVAO)

ALVAO Endpoint Management Connectors​

For Microsoft Intune Connector, the Default for discovered devices certified object rule also moves Tablet and Cell phone objects. (T202583ALVAO)

In an on-premises setup, the AlvaoWebApp AppPool identity no longer requires write permission for the C:\Windows\System32\config\systemprofile folder to compile custom forms. (T202954ALVAO)

Azure DevOps Connector: Due to the retirement of global PATs, the connector now verifies the received Personal Access Token (PAT) within the organization scope. (T200423ALVAO)
