Automatic monitor creation

On this page, you can configure the automatic monitor creation feature. This page is available starting with version 26.3.

Options:

  • Enable automatic monitor creation - turn on the feature.
  • Creation
    • Scope - select which computers monitor objects will be created for.
      • All computers in the asset tree
      • Only computers under selected objects
  • Placement

    • Default monitor placement

      • Alongside a computer - monitors are placed in the computer's parent object.
      • Under a computer - monitors are placed in the computer object (that is, as child objects of the computer).

    • Exceptions (computer types that use opposite placement) - select computer types for which you want to use the opposite placement to the default setting.

      For example, if you want laptop monitors to be placed alongside computers (as they are more loosely associated) and monitors for other computer types (Computer/desktop, Computer/server) under computers, choose Under a computer as the default and Computer/laptop as the exception.
