Conventions Used in This Manual

The term click means to press the left mouse button briefly and release it.

The term double-click means to press the left mouse button twice quickly on the same location on the screen.

The phrase move something with the mouse (or drag & drop) describes the following action:

  1. Move the mouse over the object that you want to move.
  2. Press and hold the left mouse button.
  3. Move the mouse cursor to the desired location on the screen.
  4. Release the left mouse button.

The left mouse button is the commonly used button for this action. Using the right mouse button is always specified in greater detail, e.g. "... then right-click on...".

Using the mouse to control the application is described from a right-handed person's point of view, i.e. using the default mouse settings in Windows. Left-handed users usually use reverted mouse settings, i.e. with the left and right mouse buttons swapped.
