This page contains general settings for the ALVAO Asset Management system.

Options:

• Use permissions in the Objects Tree – check if you want the object tree access to be governed by the permissions explicitly set for individual users. By default, this option is disabled and user permissions to objects in the tree are controlled by their roles.
  Notification:

  Some roles grant a right to read or manipulate with objects independently on rights in the object tree. For example, Asset system administrator has all the rights for work with objects and the rights can not be removed from this role.
• Create files with documents – enable if you want to automatically create PDF documents when creating internal handover protocols.
• The "Generate a new document" option in the handover protocol will be enabled by default – enable if the Generate a new document option should always be ON in the Internal handover protocol dialog when generating an internal handover protocol.
• Notify for products installed as "Unclassified" – enable if you want the found forbidden or optional SW to display as highlighted in the Asset Management Console. See Product status.
• Save document attachments – select where to save the generated internal handover protocols. 
  • To the database – the protocol will be saved in the ALVAO database.
  • To shared folder (not recommended) – protocols will be saved into the shared folder on the disc. Specify a path to folder. You can use network paths too (e.g. \\server\doc).
    Notification:

    If you don't specify a path for documents, the documents will be saved to the ALVAO Asset Management sub-folder under the My Documents folder of the current user.
• Report path – the path you specify here will be offered by default in Asset Management Console for the report print.
  If you leave the path blank, the Console will always remember the previous location from which the report was printed.
• Default object kind for computers – object kind of the computer type. This kind will be preset (default option) when creating new computers manually and also when importing them.

  A template has to exist for computer type object kind to be able to select it.
