Monitoring - Settings

The window contains the settings for the ALVAO User Activity Monitoring module. The settings also apply to the ALVAO HW/SW Usage Monitoring module.

Options:

  • Connection – setting the communication parameters between Monitoring WebService and Monitoring Agent.
    • Monitoring portal address – enter the URL address of the Monitoring Portal (Monitoring WebService is installed in there).
    • Agent logging in the web service – select the method of the Agents' authentication when accessing Monitoring WebService.
      • Password – select this option if you want to authenticate using the password.
        Enter the password set during the Agents installation on the monitored computers.
      • Certificate – select this option if you want to secure the Agents' access to Monitoring WebService on the IIS level.
        Set the security of Monitoring WebService in IIS to Certificate.
  • Permissions – setting the default user access policies to records containing information about their own activity as well as about the activity of other users.
    • Activity records of the user can see
      • User himself/herself – select this option if only the user should have access to his/her activity records.
      • User's direct manager – select this option, if the user activity records can be viewed only by the user's direct manager.
      • All managers of this user – select this option if the user activity records should see only the user's direct manager, manager of the manager etc.
  • WMI – Windows Management Instrumentations (WMI) settings.
    • Logging in
      • Use Integrated Windows Authentication – select this option if you want the Monitoring Agent to use the currently signed-in user for signing in.
      • User name – select if you want to enter your own user name to be used for authentication by the Monitoring Agent.
        Notification:
        The account must have administrator permissions.
    • Temporarily save the installation package into a folder on a computer upon the remote installation of the agent – specify a path to the folder which the installation package will be temporarily saved into.
    Note:
    WMI is a Windows component used by ALVAO Management for remote installation and diagnostics of Agents.
