Computer Requirements

Servers

  • Operating system: Microsoft Windows Server 2012, Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 or later (all editions including Express Edition)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0, 3.5
  • Microsoft Internet Information Services Server (IIS)

The IIS server needs to be installed and configured correctly to run the ALVAO WebApp. For non-agent detections to work correctly, the server on which the Collector is installed should be running at least Windows Server 2003 (32 bit) or later. If the server is running an older operating system (Windows XP), the correct function of non-agent detections cannot be guaranteed (especially for 64 bit stations).

Computers of Technical Support operators and technicians

  • Operating systems:
    • Microsoft Windows 10 Pro, Enterprise
      • ALVAO Asset Management Console and ALVAO Admin are supported by ALVAO on the following editions of Windows 10 – Windows 10 Pro, Windows 10 Enterprise. ALVAO Asset Management Console and ALVAO Admin are supported on the in-market supported Windows 10 Current Branch for Business (CBB) servicing branches only and will be supported for the lifetime of the apps until 04/2017.
    • Microsoft Windows 8.1 Pro, Enterprise
    • Microsoft Windows 8 Pro, Enterprise
    • Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate
    • Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition, Ultimate Edition
    • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0, 3.5
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 10 or later
  • Microsoft Office 2007 or later (optional)

Other Network Computers

The system can register any computers and devices regardless of their operating system.
However, if you want to use automatic hardware and software detection, the computers must comply with the following requirements:

  • Operating systems:
    • Microsoft Windows 10, Windows 8.1/8, Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000 SP4 – can be detected with or without Agent
    • Microsoft Windows 95/98/Me/NT4 SP6 – can be detected with Agent 5.0 only
    • Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or later - for Agent installation
