Property

  • Property name – displays the property name.
  • Value – please enter the property value. You can use the list that is linked to this field to select a value from the Code list of default values for this property. You can also enter a value from the Barcode Reader Manager. If you want to use this option, click on the barcode icon next to the "Value" field.
  • Link to object
    • This property determines the object name – if you check this checkbox, the name of the object containing this property will be generated automatically based on the value of this property. The object name can include up to 8 properties: in that case, the property values follow one after another in a specific order. If you change a property value which is used to determine the object name, the object name in the tree will be changed too.
    • Order in Object Name – this number specifies the order in the object name displayed in the tree. If you change the order here, the order of the remaining properties will be adjusted automatically.
  • Inheritance
    • Inherit property – if you check this checkbox, this property will be inherited by all child objects, i.e. it will be displayed on the Properties tab in the Main Window inside all child objects.
Note:
Some property values cannot be changed. If the object in the tree uses the option "Update automatically based on detection", the values of detected properties cannot be edited (these values would be most probably overwritten by the next detection). Also, if the object has been loaded from Active Directory, the property values imported from Active Directory cannot be edited either (these values would be most probably overwritten by the next detection). The information on the fact that these values cannot be edited is then displayed in the message under the "Value" field.
Note:
The list of values is compiled dynamically from the values of a given property of only those objects which match the corresponding object kind. If the property is set to be unique, the list will include values of the given property across all database objects.
