AM Console - Move to Discarded assets - OEM licenses are completely invalidated (whole license)

ALVAO Asset Management 11.1 and higher

Symptoms

- the computer has some OEM licenses allocated
- the computer is moved to Discarded assets (single move)
- all OEM licenses that were assigned to the computer are completely invalidated after the move (not just the specific license item)

Cause

The cause is a bug in ALVAO products.

Solution

Fixed in release 11.1.2039 - 11.1/SP1 (2023-09-14)

Workaround

  1. Make a backup of the database
  2. First, run the script "Repair_InvalidateOemSwLicencesInSubtree.sql" from the attachments to repair the stored procedure.
  3. Then run the script "Repair_OEM_licenses.sql" which will attempt to repair the OEM licenses that were affected by the move.
  4. Then check all OEM licenses to make sure everything is in order.
