The application can also be used when working in ALVAO Asset Management. Features include:

• Barcode reader: Create assets by retrieving serial number during stocking. Supported code formats on both Android and iOS devices: Azted, Codebar, Code39, Code93, Code128, Datamatrix, Ean13, Ean8, Itf14, Pdf417, Upc_e, QR.

Technical requirements

Common:

• ALVAO, version 11.1 SP1 or later
• Microsoft Entra ID authentication
• Device with Android OS or iOS
• REST API available from internet

Asset Management:

• ALVAO Asset Management, version 11.1 SP1 or later
• Database compatibility with SQL Server 2016 or later
• Optional: AI Vision with OCR and AI | Microsoft Azure (Azure OCR for text in image recognition, barcode reader)

First launch

• This procedure is intended for Alvao on-premises solution. Before first launching the mobile app in your organization, set the correct redirect URI in the authentication app in the Azure portal.
  • Portal Azure – Microsoft Entra ID – App registrations – find Alvao authentication app.
  • Redirect URIs – add platform – Mobile and desktop applications – configure URL
  • Redirect URIs – add a new value com.alvao.servicedeskmobile://auth
• Visit Google Play (Android OS) or App Store (iOS) and download ALVAO Mobile App to your device.
• Go to the mobile app – Sign in with Microsoft – enter the full REST API address, e.g., http://app.company.com/RestApi.
  Note:

  For Android OS, we advise incorporating the idtyp claim for access-type tokens. This helps avoid potential issues related to ticket loading. Set in Portal Azure – Managed applications – Manage – Token Configuration – Add optional claim – Access Token type – choose idtyp claim.
• Sign in with your Microsoft account.

Asset Management

Follow this step to enable extracting text from images. This function is used for stocking assets with barcode reader. For creating assets, the AM Administrator or Asset manager role is required.

Optional: In Administration – Settings – Web services fill in Azure resource endpoint (url) and key. Select the resource to work with in Azure AI Vision Studio.
