Custom item

The window to setting the custom item.

Warning:
Custom items can only be edited by users with the DDLADMIN permission enabled.
  • Display name – please enter a custom item name which will be shown to users.
  • Database table – select which table you want to insert the custom item into from the menu:
    Database table Matching entity

    tPersonCust Person
    tAccoutCust Organization
    tHdSectionCust Service
    tSlaCust SLA
    LicHistCust License
  • Database column – please enter the database column name. This name must be unique and it cannot contain spaces. We recommend to name the columns in English.
  • Type – select the custom item type from the menu:
    Type Meaning Representation in the user interface
    bit logical value checkbox
    int integer text field
    float decimal number text field
    nvarchar string text field
    datetime date and time field containing date and time
    • Note:
      The following settings make sense only for the nvarchar type (it is inactive for the rest of types):
    • Length – enter the maximum number of characters which can be saved into the item.
    • Maximum length – enable if you want to save long texts into the item.
    • Multi-line text – enable this option if you want to display input field for multi-line text input in the forms. Otherwise only one-line input field is displayed.
      Note:
      This option could not be combined with value list.
  • Enable NULL – the field is always enabled.
  • Order – enter the order in which the item should be displayed in the forms. The items are displayed in ascending order by the Order value. If two items have the same Order value, their mutual order will be random.
  • Description – enter the item description displayed to users in the forms.
  • Use value list – enable this option, if you want users to be able to select values for given property from a list.
    Note:
    The list can be used only for int and nvarchar types.
    • Add – adding a new value into the list.
    • Edit – editing the selected list value.
    • Delete – deleting the value selected from the list.
    • Move up – moving the selected value up in the list.
    • Move down – moving the selected value down in the list.
    • Increase level – increasing the selected value level in the tree list.
    • Reduce the level – decreasing the selected value level in the tree list.
    Note:
    If the field using the list has the int type, the user can select only from the values listed in the list. If the field has the nvarchar type, the user can select either from the list or enter custom value.
