Custom Commands

Custom commands can be used for performing custom operations or operations with external systems. A custom command can be run for exactly one selected request or independently of a request. After its displaying to the user and its execution, you can define conditions checking e.g. the signed in user's role, the request status, or the value of its items.

The command can perform a sequence of actions within ALVAO Service Desk or open the URL in the user's default browser.

You have to have enabled the Custom program extensions to use the custom command.

Warning:
The ALVAO database can be permanently damaged if a custom command is defined incorrectly; therefore, always use a copy of the database in the test environment to create and test commands.
Tip:
Creation of a working custom command requires good knowledge of the ALVAO database and the Service Desk WebService interface.
Tip:
In order to be able to view a custom command in the user's preferred language, create one command for each language. Then check the conditions for displaying to see if the user's preferred language corresponds to the language of the command.
