Views

Different table views, such as the column width and order, the method of sorting values and filter settings can be saved as views.

You can create a personal view with the New view command in the context menu of the table header. If you use this command, a ribbon with tabs will appear above the table along with the new view which appears in it as a new tab. The new view is a copy of the currently selected view. Once you have entered the name for the new view, you can customize the table settings. You can then switch between the views simply by clicking the tabs above the table. If the table contains only one view, the tab ribbon with views will not be displayed.

Pinned views are displayed in the ribbon with tabs. New view is pinned by default. Using the Unpin command from the context menu, its tab will be moved from the ribbon with tabs into the drop-down box available via the ... command. You can display a maximum of one unpinned view in the ribbon with tabs. Then you can pin the unpinned view, either by the Pin command from the context menu, or by moving its tab to another position.

If you want to delete a view, right-click on the view tab that you want to delete and select Delete from the context menu.

You can also rename views: go to the context menu above the tabs – right-click on a tab of the view that you want to rename and select Rename from the context menu. A field opens where you can edit the name of the view.

The view with edited settings are displayed with * character at the end of the name, e.g. All*. If you want to keep the settings changes for the next opening of the window, save it using the Save view settings command from the context menu above the view tab or table header. If you don't save the settings before closing the window with the table, original settings will be used upon the next displaying of the table. Settings of unsaved views can be also restored into the last saved state using the Restore view settings command.

Note:
Save also the newly created views, otherwise they will not display upon the next displaying of the table. You needn't save deleting of the views.

To change the order of the views, use your mouse to drag the respective view tab to the desired location. If you drag and drop the view outside of the bookmark ribbon and then back to a different location in the bookmark ribbon, the view you are dragging will swap places with the view over which you point the mouse. In the Alvao WebApp, use the Move command available from the context menu to change the views order. You can move the view tab to the corresponding position by entering the numerical value.

Shared views

If several users use one or more of the same views, each user does not have to set up the views himself/herself, but it is enough if one user creates and sets the views and then provides them to other users as so-called shared views. The user who created the shared views is the owner of these views and only he/she can modify those views and determine who can use them.

Shared view display

  1. Display the Shared views drop-down menu in any view menu and select the view you want to display.
Note: In the SD Console, you will find a menu behind unpinned views under the command…. If you don't see the menu, there are no shared views.
  2. The view is displayed in the tab ribbon and behaves the same as an unpinned view. If you want to pin it, choose the Pin command from the view menu. The pinned shared view no longer appears in the shared views menu.
Tip:
If the shared view owner changes the view, the changes will be applied to all users who use the view. If you do not want to accept these changes, create a personal copy of the shared view by using the New command.
Note:
In the shared views menu, the owner of the view is listed after the view name.

Sharing a view

  1. Display the view you want to share.
  2. From the view menu, choose the Share command.
  3. Select one or more users or groups to share the view with.
  4. Click on the OK button to confirm the selection.

All selected users, including members of selected groups, then see the view in their shared views menu from which they can use the view. The user who shared the view is the owner of the view and only he/she can edit the shared view.

Note:
The users who are only requesters cannot share views.

Shared view change

A shared view can only be edited by its owner by editing the view normally and saving the changes with the Save view settings command. The changes made will be applied to all users who use the shared view.

If you are not the owner of the shared view or want to create a new personal view from the shared view, create a copy of the selected view using the New command and save it if necessary by the Save view settings command.

Note:
The Save view settings command is only available to the owner and administrator of the shared view.

Sharing settings and owner change

  1. If you want to change the users or groups the view is shared with or the view owner, choose the Sharing settings option from the menu.
  2. Select the required changes and click the OK button.
Notification:
If you pass ownership of the view to another user, you will no longer be able to edit the view.
Note:
Only the owner and administrator can change sharing and the owner.
