ALVAO Taskbar

  • Icon: Restore Refresh – refreshes the panel content by reloading the page with a request related to the currently selected item in MS Outlook. This switches the panel to the preview mode.
  • Icon: New item from request New item from request – creates a new item according to selection (e-mail message, event, meeting, task) related to the selected message for the request in MS Outlook.
  • Icon: Open in separate window Open in separate window – opens the page currently displayed in the taskbar in a separate browser window. The page in the browser will be opened according to the current URL address, so the changes you performed when working with the page, e.g. filled-in form items, may not be transferred to the page.
  • icon: Search in requests Search in requests – type the number of the searched request or a part of its name into the input field and click this button. A list of found requests appears in the taskbar.
  • icon: Menu Menu – opens the ALVAO WebApp main and user menu on the current ALVAO WebApp page.
  • Panel desktop – the panel desktop displays a request from ALVAO Service Desk related to item currently selected in MS Outlook, i.e. message (e-mail), event, meeting, or task. Given item must contain an existing request symbol (e.g. T123ALVAO) in the subject.
    • If no request corresponds to the currently selected item, the overview of last viewed request details and sender's last communication – if his/her e-mail address has been provided in Service Desk – is displayed in the pane.
By default the panel is in the preview mode and its content is automatically updated according to the item selected in MS Outlook. If you start working with the request in the panel (e.g. you start to write a note into its log), the panel switches into edit mode and the content is not updated anymore when selecting another item in MS Outlook. You can switch the panel back into the preview mode using the Refresh button.
