New Computer

The window serves to create new computers in the Asset Management database. You can automatically create computers detected in the network, or add the computer manually.

• Search for new computers on the network – select if you want to search the network and create computers newly found in it.
• Create computer manually – select if you want to create a new computer in the database.
  • Object kind – select the computer type object kind from the menu.
    Note:

    
    A template has to exist for the given kind to be able to select the computer type object kind. Only the kinds with existing template are displayed in the menu.

    You can change the default object kind in the ALVAO Admin – Manage – Asset Management – Settings – General tab.
  • Name in the network – enter the unique name for the computer in your network.
    Note:

    
    If the numeric sequence is active for the selected computer kind, the name will be automatically generated according to the computer type and the order of its creation in the Asset Management.
    Therefore, the name can not be entered manually.
  • Detect computer information over network via saved settings - enable if you want to automatically schedule the detections for a new computer (according to the detection global settings set in the ALVAO Admin).
