New Computers

The window serves to refine the detection and create new computers in your network.

• All nearby computers – select this option, if you want to search for all new computers on the network and save any new computers in the database.
• Computers in domain/group – select this option and specify the domain or workgroup name you want to limit the new computers search for.
• Scan IP address range – select this option if you want to search for computers in the specified IP address range only.
  Note:

  Initial and end IP addresses are also searched.
  • Initial address – enter the interval initial address.
  • End address – enter the interval end address.
  • Remove domain name from the name in the network – enable this option if the created computers names should not contain the domain extension.
  • Write the IP address to the "IP address" property – enable this option if the IP address found for a computer should be saved in theIP address property of the newly created computer.
    Note:

    
    The IP address will only be saved, if the computer template contains the IP address property.
• Computers from Active Directory – select this option if you want to search for all the new computers in Microsoft Active Directory folder, and specify the LDAP path to this folder.
  • Search in subfolders – enable this option if you want to search for new computers in the entire subtree of the specified folder.
