Objects tree

Each tree item represents one object in Asset Management.
For more information about the logics behind creation of the objects tree, see Designing Tree Structure.

Context menu options in the Objects tree:

  • New object – create new object as an sub-object of the object selected in the tree in Asset Management.
  • New computer – create special object of the computer type (as an sub-object of the selected object).
  • New request – create a new request related to the selected object.
  • Related requests – view requests related to the selected object in ALVAO Service Desk.
  • Cut – cut the selected object (can be pasted anywhere else).
  • Copy – copy the selected object.
  • Paste – paste object from the clipboard as a sub-object of the selected object.
  • Delete – delete the selected object.
  • Move – move the selected object.
  • Change quantity – allows to change the Quantity property for the objects having such property.
  • Print – displaying information about the selected object in the print preview. (Open) the most suitable from the offered templates. You might need to Refine query parameters for some of them.
    If you select a report for Handover protocol, the corresponding window opens for filling in the required information about handover:
  • Edit – edit the details of the object selected in the tree.

Context menu options in the Objects tree if you select the computer object:

  • Detect – detect the selected computer (can be detected by the saved settings for the given computer, or edit the settings for a single shot).
  • Detection settings – edit the detection settings for tje selected computer.
  • Ping – find whether the computer on the given IP address responds.
  • Rename computer – change the name in the network for the computer selected in the tree.
  • Hardware – view details about hardware detection of the selected computer.
  • Software
    • Installation Registry – view the installation registry for the selected computer.
    • License Registry – view the license registry for the selected computer.
    • Details – view details about software detection of the selected computer.
  • Administrator tools – commands for computer management avaliable only to the administrator.
