AM WA - Objects - Import CSV - value with more than 255 characters - Error: String or binary data would be truncated

ALVAO Asset Management 10.4 and higher

Symptoms

If any of the object values have more than 255 characters, the import will crash and an error will be displayed: "String or binary data would be truncated".

Cause

The cause is a bug in ALVAO products.

Solution

Fixed in release 11.1.1096 - 11.1 (2023-04-13)

Workaround

Trim the data in MS Excel or use Import Util.
