Symptoms

If more product licenses are imported than are currently unassigned, but at the same time licenses are being released so that the actual number of licenses being assigned is less than the number currently unassigned, the import will display an error: "The number of available licenses has been exceeded. Remove computers/users that have exceeded the number of available licenses."

Cause

The cause is a bug in ALVAO products.

Solution

Fixed in release 11.2.3185 - 11.2/SP1 FIX6 (2024-11-07)

Workaround

Manually increase the number of licenses to a value that covers the number of licenses being assigned, and then decrease it again after the import. or Sort the records in the imported file so that the licenses are first released and then assigned.
