Log analysis
Alvao stores information in the logs of the following types:
-
Diagnostics log - contains issues related to the configuration of the application that can be remedied by Administrators.
-
Security audit logs - changes in security settings, e.g. user roles and permissions, as well as user sign-ins, are stored in these logs.
-
App provider diagnostics logs - logs of issues related to application provisioning, e.g., hard drive free space issues, etc. These logs are not available in Alvao SaaS.
Diagnostics log
To access this log, first create a data query displaying all information in the log. Go to Administration - Data queries and use the New - Diagnostics log command. The command will create the new data query. Then, adjust user permissions and other settings if necessary, and enable the query.
Eligible users can view the log on the Data queries page by choosing the Diagnostics log.
Tip:
Receive the content of the log in your mailbox by creating a periodic alert. In
Administration -
Periodic alerts use the
New - Configuration and operation issues command to create the alert.
Security audit logs
The security audit trail is divided into two logs:
- Security change log - changes in security settings, e.g., user roles and permissions.
- Signin log - user sign-ins in applications.
To access these logs, first create a data query for each log. Go to Administration - Data queries and use the New - Security change log and New - Signin log commands respectively.
Eligible users can view the log on the Data queries page by choosing the given query.
The Security change log contains the following information:
- Changes to user information
- Assigning users and groups to groups
- User and group permissions to services
- Service SLAs assignments to users and groups
- User and group permissions to object properties
- User and group permissions to objects

These logs are available only in on-premises scheme.
