Computer Requirements

Servers

  • Operating system: Microsoft Windows 2008 Server (R2), Microsoft Windows 2003 Server (R2)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 SP1 (all editions incl. Express Edition), Microsoft SQL Server 2005 (all editions incl. Express Edition)
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0, 3.5
  • Microsoft Internet Information Server (IIS)

The IIS server needs to be installed and configured correctly to run the Portal. For non-agent detections to work correctly, the server on which the Collector is installed should be running at least Windows 2003 Server (32 bit) or later. If the server is running an older operating system (Windows XP), the correct function of non-agent detections cannot be guaranteed (especially for 64 bit stations).

Network Administrators' Computers (Console Installations)

  • Operating systems:
    • Microsoft Windows 8 Pro, Enterprise
    • Microsoft Windows 7 Professional, Enterprise, Ultimate
    • Microsoft Windows Vista Business Edition, Ultimate Edition
    • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0, 3.5
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 8 or later

Other Network Workstations

The system can register any computers and devices regardless of their operating system.
However, if you want to use automatic hardware and software detection, the computers must comply with the following requirements:

  • Operating systems:
    • Windows 7, Vista, XP, 2000 SP4 – can be detected with or without Agent
    • Windows 95/98/Me/NT4 SP6 – can be detected with Agent 5.0 only
