Management of Monitored Computers
ALVAO Monitoring maintains a list of computers that are monitored. You can display this list in ALVAO Admin under Manage – Monitoring – Computers.
The computers are added into this list automatically once the Monitoring WebService receives the corresponding data from the Monitoring Agent.
Importing Computers from AD
If you want to install the Agent manually from Admin, you need to fill in this list before the Agents start sending data. The most effective way is to import the computers from the Active Directory (LDAP):
- Go to the computer list and select
Load from Active Directory.
- Select a path to the folder to load your computer list from. If you want to load all computers from the entire domain company.com, use the following path:
LDAP://dc=company,dc=com The path is usually specified in the following format: LDAP://server_name/ou=organizational_unit,dc=domain,dc=parent_domain
- Click on Load.
The Computer List will be filled with the computers from Active Directory.
Adding Computers Manually
If you don't use Active Directory or if you don't intend to use it to fill in the list of monitored computers, you can add computers manually.
- Go to the Computer List and click on
Add.
- Fill in at least the Computer Name.
- Click on OK to add the computer.
