User's Substitute

If a user is absent, another user can take over his/her role, i.e. substitute the primary user. Use the Substitute item to set up the alternative user. In Edit User, go to the Substitute item and select an alternative user who will take over the role of the primary user during his/her absence. The list contains only users whose User name field has been filled in and who are from the same organization as the primary user, see the Organization field. A user's presence and absence can be set with the Absent item. A user can be declared absent by the system administrator in the user settings or by the user himself/herself in the WebApp settings.

If the primary user is absent, his/her substitute will have the permission to approve requests. The substitute also obtains operator permissions for the same services as the absent user. The Substitute settings take no effect when the primary user is present.

Warning:
The substitute is not entitled to approve requests for the requester if the requester approval step is used.
Note:
Starting from ALVAO 10.0 SP1, the absence of a user is set with a time interval which has a fixed start time and can also have a pre-set end time. The absence can be set by the user himself/herself or by his/her substitute in the WebApp settings, but also by the system administrator in ALVAO Admin.
