Rule for Recognition Based on Files – General

The tab allows to edit the file definition used by the rule for products recognition. The products are recognised based on the Custom software products library.
The recognition is performed based on the data you enter.

Options:

  • Key product identification file – enable this option if a rule is a software recognition rule.
    If you disable the option, you create the cross-out rule not for recognizing the product, but for excluding the given file from the recognition process.
  • File name – enter the file name.
  • File extension – enter the file extension.
  • File size – enter the file size in bytes.
  • Company – enter the product publisher.
  • Product name – enter the product name.
  • Language – select the product language from the menu.
  • Product version – enter the product version.
  • Product version from – enter the low range (the lowest product version) meeting the condition, e.g. the "5.1" value means version "5.1" and higher.
  • Product version to – enter the high range (the highest product version) meeting the condition, e.g. the "5.5" value means all the versions up to "5.5.255.255".
  • File version – recognize by file version.
  • File version from – enter the file version.
  • File version to – enter the lowest file version number – low range value.
  • Original file name – enter the highest file version number – high range value.
  • Internal name – enter the internal name.
  • Comments – enter the comment.
  • File description – enter the file description.
Warning:
You cannot edit rules for products from the standard software library.
Note:
You can use special SQL characters in the fields, for example "%" means a sequence of any characters.
