Edit Rule for Recognition Based on System Registry – General

The tab allows to edit the registry record definition used by the rule for products recognition. The products are recognised based on the Custom software products library.
The recognition is performed based on the items you enter. No item is required.

Options:

  • Key product identification record – enable this option if a rule is a software recognition rule.
If you disable the option, you create the cross-out rule not for recognizing the product, but for excluding the given record from the recognition process.
  • Product – enter the product name.
  • Version – enter the product version.
  • Version from – enter the low range (the lowest product version) meeting the condition, e.g. the "5.1" value means version "5.1" and higher.
  • Version to – enter the high range (the highest product version) meeting the condition, e.g. the "5.5" value means all the versions up to "5.5.255.255".
  • Language – select the product language from the menu.
  • Publisher – enter the software product manufacturer.
  • Path – enter the registry key.
  • Comment – enter the product comment.
Note:
You can use special SQL characters in the fields, for example the "%" character means a sequence of any characters.
Warning:
You cannot edit rules for products from the standard software library.
