The File menu serves to work with database, user list and the ALVAO system.
Options:
- Database – opening or creating a new database.
- Activation – activating the product by entering the activation key.
- Load
- Settings... – creating and restoring the backup of the signed in user' settings for the whole ALVAO system.
- Configuration check – checks the configuration of the ALVAO system and displays a list of problems discovered.

- Refresh data for reports
- Updating the Computer, Node, and User database views so that they contain 100 most frequently used object properties.
The columns in the views have the same names as the objects properties. If the property has the same name as any of the system column in the view, the name of its column will have the "_custom" extension.
- Updating the Request, RequestOperation, RequestFirstReaction, RequestSubsequentResponse, RequestContinualResponse, RequestResolution, RequestReopen, and RequestLog database views for Czech (Csy) and English (Enu).
The date and time are displayed in the UTC time zone. The database language is used for the names of the columns containing custom items of requests.
- Optimize performance – updating the statistics and defragmenting the database indexes. Recommended to perform if the database performance dropped and the ALVAO system is slowed.
Warning: Performance optimization may take several minutes and the application may stop responding. We do not recommend performing it during the system's operating hours.
- Repair Database – recalculate the precalculated database items (such as auxiliary tables for language localization, paths in the objects tree (AM), object names generated from the names of properties (AM), etc.).
- Login as different user – allows the user to log into the console by entering a name and password.
- End – closing the ALVAO Admin application.
