The tab contains general settings for the ALVAO Asset Management system.

Options:

• Use permissions in the Object Tree – check if you want the object tree access to be governed by the permissions explicitly set for individual users in the object tree.
  Note:

  This checkbox is blank by default and all users have access to the entire tree specified in the user role.
  Warning:

  Some roles grant a right to read or manipulate with objects independently on rights in the object tree. For example, Asset system administrator has all the rights for work with objects and the rights can not be removed from this role.
• Create document files – enable if you want to create Microsoft Word documents automatically when creating handover protocols.
  The documents are saved to a shared folder (it relates to the settings of the path for saving document attachments).
• The "Generate a new document" option in the handover protocol will be enabled by default – enable if the Generate a new document option should always be ON when generating a handover protocol.
• Notify for products installed as "Unclassified" – enable if you want the found forbidden or optional SW to display as highlighted in the Asset Management Console.
• Save attachments to documents
  • to database – select if the handover protocols should be saved into the database once generated.
  • to shared folder (not recommended) – select if you want the handover protocols to be saved into a set folder.
    • ... – please specify a path to folder.
      You can use network paths too (e.g. \server\doc).
      Warning:

      If you don't specify a path for documents, the documents will be saved automatically to the ALVAO Asset Management sub-folder under the My Documents folder of the current user.
• Report path – the path you specify here will be offered by default in Asset Management Console for the report print.
  If you leave the path blank, the Asset Management Console will always remember the previous location from which the report was printed.
  • ... – please specify a path to folder.
• Default object kind for computers – select the object kind of the computer type. This kind will be preset (default option) when creating new computers manually and also when importing them.

  A template has to exist for computer type object kind to be able to select it.
