The tab allows to edit the basic data about the object.

Options:

  • Object name – enter the object name.
    Note:
If the object name consists of properties, the name is displayed in the field as gradually composed from the given properties.
  • Change icon – change the object icon.
  • Object kind – select the object kind from the menu.
    • ... – select the object kind in individual window, eventually.
    • Display all object kinds – enable this option if you want to select the object kind which is not the computer type.
  • Note:

The object is automatically unified based on the corresponding template (if it exists) after changing the object kind.
    Note:

The object kind can be changed only by the user with the AM Administrator or Asset manager role. The Asset manager can change the object kind only for computers and only to other computer kind.
  • Object GUID in Active Directory – displays the value relating the object to Active Directory. If no value is here, the object doesn't have a link to AD.
    Notes:

The value is displayed only if the object has been imported from AD.
The field can not be edited: you can either Delete it or copy its value.
The link between the object and AD is canceled by deleting, then you can edit the values of properties imported from AD.
  • Flags

      Warning:
This value can only be edited by the Administrator.
    • Hidden object – enable this option if the object should be hidden.
      Note:
Hidden objects are only displayed in the objects tree, if they are enabled in the application settings (DisplayHidden objects).
