Objects and Properties
You can view objects in the Console in the Objects tree in the left-hand part of the Main Window. Each tree item represents one object.
Each object is defined by its type and name and can have an icon assigned to it. The Objects tree only displays the icons and names. The object type specifies which object in the real world (e.g. computer, monitor, printer, …) is represented by the object in the tree. Right-click on the object to open the context menu. The Edit command opens the Object window where you can edit the basic data of the object.
Warning:
Some object types are closely linked to the entire system, queries, and print reports (e.g. the Computer and Computer Set types). We therefore recommend not changing these objects.
Each object can be described with one or more properties. For example, the User object is described with the Personal number and User (i.e. user's name and surname) properties, etc. The Properties tab in the top-right corner of the window, next to the Objects Tree, contains a list of properties of the object currently selected in the tree. Below the list of properties there are several more tabs which filter the list based on different criteria. For more detailed information, please refer to the Main Console Window page. The list can also include properties inherited by the object from a parent object in the tree. For more detailed information, please refer to Inheritance chapter.
