Creating New Request Related to Object

  1. In the AM Console, search for an object in the tree for which you want to create a new request.
  2. Select the New request command from the context menu of the object.
    Note:
The New request command is not displayed unless the SD Console installation is registered in Windows Registry and the path to SD Console is set up manually.
  3. The New request window opens.
    Note:
    • If the object is located under a person in the Objects Tree, the person will be automatically filled in as the requester.
    • If you select a service containing the Device item, it will be automatically filled in with the object selected in AM Console.
    • If the Default incident service or Default incident SLA properties are set on the object, the corresponding items will be pre-filled automatically in a form.
    Note:
If the Objects item is visible at the selected service instead of the Device item, all objects selected in the AM Console will be added to it. If the Default incident service or Default incident SLA properties are set on all of these objects in the same way, the corresponding items will be pre-filled automatically in a form.
  4. Fill in the remaining items necessary for creating a new request and click on the OK button. This will create a new request linked to the selected device.
Note:
The New request command can be used above the object and on the Objects tab or in the Lists of objects window.
Tip:
If you need to process the selected objects in your own way (for example, create a custom request for each object), use the custom form.
