Setting Request Internal Due Dates
You can use the Internal target request item to adhere to important internal due dates while solving the request. Note: The Internal target item has to be enabled on the service process as the request item. The solvers can adhere to the internal target due date taken into account in the current target due date when selecting the requests to be resolved.
Tip: In the requests list, view the Current target, Current target (due date), and Current target (remaining) columns by which the requests can be ordered and filtered.
Setting the internal target
- In the requests list, select the request for which you want to set the internal target and select the Edit command.
- In the request properties form, select the Internal target option and fill in the name and the internal target due date. Click on OK to confirm.
Tip: The internal target name should correspond to the requested solution output at the time of planned due date. E.g. if the problem analysis is performed on the request, then the internal target is "Analysis" with determined due date of completion. The internal target name may not always correspond with the request status name, e.g. analysis, proposal, and also implementation can be performed within the Solution status.
Note: The internal target cannot be set if the status is Closed.
After the internal target has been achieved, use the Edit command again and disable the Internal target option or change it to another internal target.
Note: If the request status is changed to Closed, the internal target of the request will be automatically canceled.
Tip: If e.g. request checks with internal due dates are performed after the request has been resolved, disable automatic transition to the Closed status for the Resolved status by selecting Change automatically to Closed status in the settings of the Resolved status for the process.
