ALVAO 6.0 and older – Release notes

ALVAO Asset Management

What's New in Version 6.0

The property "Invoice ID" will rename to "Packing slip number"
After the upgrade the property "Invoice ID" will be renamed to "Packing slip number".
Any delivery of a new device also includes a packing slip. The invoice can be issued later on and does not have to go through the company's IT Department. It is therefore more convenient to enter the packing slip number when receiving new assets. The packing slip number is usually enough to accept a possible complaint.
If your internal processes require to enter the invoice ID for assets, rename the property back to "Invoice ID" after the upgrade.

The property "Computer Name" will rename to "Name on the network"
The property "Computer Name" will rename to "Name on the network".
In the new object templates, the property "Name on the network" is used also for other devices that can be connected to a network, such as printers and active network elements.
We do not recommend renaming this property back to "Computer Name" after the upgrade.

The file Console.exe has been renamed to AMConsole.exe
The AM Console executable file now uses a new name "AMConsole.exe" (Console.exe in legacy versions).
If you use a shortcut to run the application, it will be necessary to edit the shortcut once the upgrade has been completed.

Default value

Settings in the Console:

  • User settings* – Settings, Services
  • User Policy* – Settings, Basic, Service Policy

Settings in Admin:

  • Service Policy – Service Settings, Notification
  • Global Policy – Settings, Notification

* The "User" meant here is the Console user, i.e. a user with the Operator/Solver/Manager permissions.

What's New in Version 2.0

If you use custom e-mail templates in the Console, i.e. the files EventEmailSubject.ast and EventEmailHtmlBody.ast in the Config folder, you need to adapt the database opening algorithm to the new standard templates. The "con" variable cannot be used any more. Instead of this variable, you can now use the param("ConnectionString") parameter to open the database connection.
Due to changes in the Web.config Portal configuration file we recommend reconfiguring this file based on the SampleWeb.config file.
