Password Rules
The page is used to set the password rules for users who are not from Active Directory.
Options:
- Complexity of passwords
- Minimum password length (number of characters) – enter how many characters the shortest permissible password can have.
- Passwords must meet the complexity requirements – enable if you wish that passwords have to meet the following requirements:
- The password must have at least 6 characters.
- It must contain characters from at least three of the following character sets:
- capital letters
- small letters
- digits
- symbols (for example !, $, #,%)
- The password cannot contain the user name or the displayed name of the user.
- Password history
- Minimum password age (in days) – specify the minimum number of days between two password changes.
- Maximum password age (in days) – specify the period of maximum password validity in days. After this period the user will have to change his/her password.
- Allowed range: 0–999.
- 0 means that passwords are valid for an unlimited period.
- Password history size (number) – enter the number of passwords the system will remember for each user retroactively and will not allow the user to set the same password again.
