Software

On this tab, you see the information of software for the selected computer. For a folder object (i.e., objects containing other objects), the tab displays summary information of all objects contained in the folder.

This tab is part of the ALVAO Discovery Agent and ALVAO Software Asset Management modules. For the ALVAO Discovery Agent module, it displays the Windows Registry records about the installed software. For the ALVAO Software Asset Management module, it displays installed software products, and assigned software licenses for the computer.

Options:

  • Command panel
    • Assign license - assign a software license to the computer.
    • Move license - move the selected software license to a different computer, user, or cost center.
    • Unassign license - release the selected software license from the computer.
    • ...
      • Add installation - record an installation of software on the computer.
      • Remove installation - record an uninstallation of the selected software from the computer.
  • Table - contains all software installations and software licenses assigned to the selected computer, or the summary information for folders. You can customize the table as needed.

This tab is available only to the members of the following user groups:

  • Asset Management administrators
  • Asset managers
  • PC software managers
  • Software and hardware scan managers
  • Software license managers
