The Licenses Register is a central repository for all software license purchases and sales.
To view the list of purchased or cancelled licenses and go to the main Console menu, select Software – Licenses Register. This will open the Licenses Register window. You can edit this list with the buttons at the right edge of this window and/or with the commands from the context menu.
If you use licenses that must be renewed periodically, you can set the license renewal date as a reminder.
Reminders can be used for other purposes too, e.g. to notify you of the fact that a regular check of the backup system is due.
You can view the list of reminders in the Reminders window by going to the Tools – Lists – Reminders menu.
The Media Register allows you to keep track of software installation media, dongles, user manuals etc.
Go to the Tools – Lists – Media in the main Console menu to open the Media window with the list of all media in your Asset Management. You can also edit the list in this window.
You can assign the media to purchased licenses in the Licenses Register, either while creating the license record in the New license – vouchers and media window, or when you edit an existing record on the Vouchers tab.
The media can be identified very similar to vouchers. You can also use Numeric Series to identify your media.
The Media window also includes a simple lending service. Media can be lent to and returned by all users defined in the Objects tree (you can use external users for this purpose too). This allows the system administrator to maintain a clear overview of media lent, date of lending etc. The records of media lending and returns are logged in the User log.
