Data Analysis
You can use ALVAO Service Desk to perform analyses in MS Excel. This is done using the "Service Desk Analysis enu.xlsm" file in the English language and the "Service Desk Analysis csy.xlsm" file in the Czech language. The files contain contingency tables and a script for database connection. The first sheets in the workbooks contain instructions for use.
The analysis can be opened from the Service Desk Console using the Data analysis command available in the main menu on the Display tab. By this command you open the file in the "C:\Users\{User}\Documents\ALVAO\" folder. If the workbook is not present in the location, it will be restored from the installation folder.
Note: The Data analysis command works with the workbook which is in your preferred language. If you use another preferred language than English or Czech, the command will open the English workbook.
We recommend using the analytical database for data analysis.
Tip: If you want to restore the original workbook, you can simply delete the current file from the "Documents\ALVAO" folder. The workbook will be restored from the installation folder after the next use of the Data analysis command.
Note: The workbook copy is not upgraded after an upgrade to a new ALVAO version, therefore some sheets may cease to work. In this case, rename/delete the file in the "Documents\ALVAO" folder and create a new one using the Data analysis command.
Note: After installation, the "Service Desk Analysis enu.xlsm" and "Service Desk Analysis csy.xlsm" files can be found in the "{installation folder}\ALVAO\Service Desk Console\" folder. We recommend not using or deleting these files. You can copy them and use the copied versions.
