New service

The form is used to create a new service.

Options:

  • General
    • Service name – enter the name of the service.
    • E-mail – specify the service e-mail from which notifications will be sent to the requesters and members of the solver team. The e-mail can be entered as e-mail address (e.g. support@alvao.cz)orservice name <e-mail address>(e.g. Technical Support <support@alvao.cz>). Individual words in multiple-word names should be separated by spaces; do not use commas, semicolons or other punctuation symbols.
      Note:
      Do not use e-mail addresses that have already been assigned to a user.
    • Phone – enter the phone number of the service operator.
    • Description – enter a brief information about the service. Service description is displayed to requesters in the service catalog.
    • Process – select a process the requests on service will be processed with from the menu.
      Note:
      Process defines, among other things, a workflow and visible request items.
    • Request tag prefix – enter the request tag prefix. Request tag has the <prefix>request_number<suffix> format, e.g. T123ALVAO. The request tag is automatically included in the subject of the notification and other messages and is used to match the message to the correct request.
    • Request tag suffix – enter the request tag suffix, see Request tag prefix.
    • Preferred language – service language in which notifications are sent to the service operators.
    • Time zone – time zone in which all the dates and times of notifications sent to the service operators will be provided.
    • Folder (requests cannot be inserted into the service) – enable this option if you want to disable creating requests in this service. The folder can have sub-services where requests can be inserted.
    • Require license per solver – enable if you want the service to require a license per solver regardless assignment of the SLA to the Guest user. If the service requires a license per solver, the license must cover all members of the solver team. The solvers then do not require any license. For more information please refer to Service Desk License.
    • Service shortcut – if you want to create a shortcut linked to another service, enable this option and select the target service. The Authorizations and SLAs of the target service apply to the shortcut.
      • ... – potentially select the service from the service tree.
      Note:
      This option cannot be changed after the service is created.
    Note:
    The Service name, E-mail, Prefix, Suffix fields and the Process, Language, Time zone information are compulsory. 
  • Service catalog – setting the tile look in the service catalog in WebApp, setting the keywords, the order in the tree, and the default request template.
  • Loading messages – setting for loading messages from the mailbox.
  • Extended - setting the request processing progress.
  • Notifications – sets sending of automatic notifications about creation and progress of the requests solving for the edited service.
  • Other – management of service custom items
