Objects

The main window table includes a list of all sub-objects of the object currently selected in the tree. A status icon can be displayed next to the computer type objects:

  • The power status of the computer in the network is unknown (the ping command has not been called).
  • The computer is switched on (the previous call of the ping command was successful)
  • The computer is switched off or unavailable (the previous call of the ping command was unsuccessful).

The Objects tab content can be viewed also in the Objects list window. This window allows to work with the objects in the Console main window and have the list of them always displayed.

Options in the Objects tab context menu:

  • Mark in tree – highlights in bold the object selected in the table in the objects tree.
  • Move – move the selected object under another object. If you select the computer type obejct, you will be asked whether you want to move only the computers, or the computers including the sets.
  • View in the lists of objects – open the displayed objects list in an individual Objects lists window.
    Tip:
    Before you open the objects list in an individual window, you can use the filters and limit the list to the objects you are interested in.
    The objects in an individual window can be still displayed in the tree. Thus you can work with the created list without losing it by editing the specific objects.
  • New request – create a new request related to the selected object in the ALVAO ServiceDesk.
  • Related request – display the requests related to the selected object existing in the ALVAO ServiceDesk.
  • Table – the menu allows to customize the table. For example to create filters, views or display multiple rows.
  • Find – search a text in the displayed table.
  • Print – open the details about the selected objects in the HTML window for printing. The form and content of those details is based on the selected report (print_report.epq).
  • Delete – delete the selected objects from the active Asset Management Registry, i.e. move them to Recycle bin.
  • Add link to document – add a link to the existing document to the selected one.
  • Edit – edit the property or kind of the selected objects.
