ALVAO Automatic Content Translation
In the multilingual scenario, this module provides users with translations of texts in the application using machine translator with artificial intelligence.
The texts in configuration data (service names, ticket statuses, etc.) are translated automatically so you don't have to translate them manually via the translation workbook ( Administration - Settings - Languages and time zone - Download translation workbook command). When the configuration data is changed, translations are updated automatically.
Ticket requesters view News and Knowledge translated into their preferred language in web app and ALVAO for Teams app. Texts of knowledge and news posts are translated automatically when a knowledge or a news post is created or updated.
By default, a ticket solver views texts in original language but they can easily translate into their preferred language by pressing a single button. This is the case of the following entities on the Ticket page:
- Communication tab - to translate a communication record, use the Translate command located on top of that record.
- General tab - to translate a text (nvarchar) value of a custom field, press the Translate icon displayed behind that text.
In the following ticket command forms, a ticket solver writing a message to the ticket requester can write the message in theirs preferred language and then translate it into the requester's language by using the Translate command from the panel under the message input-field:
- Send message
- Resolve
- Reopen
- Set due date
- Go to status
- Start approval - translates to the language of the ticket's service
- Approve or reject - translates to the language of the ticket's service
Technical requirements

- On-premises deployment:
- Azure AI Translator service
Configuration
For ALVAO SaaS editions containing this module, no configuration is necessary on you side. The module is configured and ready to use with limited but usually sufficient amount of AI capacity. If the AI capacity included in your ALVAO SaaS subscription proves insufficient, you can use your own translator service. In this case, follow the same procedure as for on-prem deployment.
For on-prem Alvao deployments, create an instance of the Azure AI Translator service in your Azure subscription and reference it in Administration - Settings - Languages and time zone - Automatic content translation.
If for some reason you need to disable all features of this module, turn off the Administration - Settings - Languages and time zone - Automatic content translation - Enabled option.
