Saving and Restoring Console Settings
All settings (windows positions, views, filters, open database, search history etc.) are stored for the current user in the system registry on the local machine. Exempt from this rule are some settings (Use permissions in the Objects Tree etc.) that are stored in the database. The Console allows you to save the settings of the local system registry to a file. You can use this file to replicate these settings on a different machine or to restore custom settings (for example following system re-installation).
Use Tools – Save settings... to save the settings. The system will ask for the name of the REG file to save the Console settings to. This REG file can be used to create a backup copy and to restore the Console settings in future.
If you want to restore the Console settings, close the ALVAO Asset Management Console and double-click the REG file, for example in Windows Explorer. Next time you run the Console, it will use the settings restored from the REG file.
