Objects and Properties
You can view objects in the Console in the Objects tree in the left-hand part of the Main Window. Each tree item represents one object.
Each object has its own name, kind, and icon. The Objects tree only displays the icons and names. The Object kind specifies which object in the real world is represented by the object in the tree. It can be e.g. a Computer, a Monitor, a Printer etc. If you right-click on an object and select Edit command from the context menu, the Object window opens where you can edit these values.
Warning:
Some object kinds play a special role in the system. These include the objects Computer and Computer Set. Never change the object kind unless you are absolutely sure about the results.
Each object can be described with one or more properties. For example, the object User is described with the properties Personal number and User (i.e. user's name and surname) etc. The Properties tab in the top-right corner of the window, next to the Objects tree, includes a list of properties of the object currently selected in the tree. There are several more tabs below the list of properties which filter the list based on different criteria. For more detailed information, please refer to Main Console Window page. The list can also include properties inherited by the object from a parent object in the tree. For more detailed information, please refer to Inheritance chapter.
The following sections describe how to work with objects and their properties.
