ALVAO Service Desk Console

This chapter describes the windows and commands that appear on the screen while you are working with the ALVAO Service Desk Console application used for the ALVAO Service Desk product.

The Requests table is displayed in the main window of the console.
Requests search results (e.g. Search results or Specific person requests) are displayed in the separate window which is full-fledged Console window, so it has the properties listed below.

Window Options

The ribbon is located in the window header. The top part of the window displays the Requests table. If you select one specific request in the list, the request Log is displayed in the lower left part of the window and the Request detail is displayed in the right part (on the Communication tab).

Tip:
You can customize the size of individual components (even hide by minimization). This does not apply to the ribbon: the ribbon can only be hidden or shown.

Ribbon

Ribbon – contains the File menu and commands for working with the requests. You can switch between the three commands menus using the Home, Edit, and View tabs. You can use the keyboard shortcuts eventually.

Requests Table

The individual requests are in the table rows, the request items are in the table columns. Everything is described in detail on the Requests table page.

Tip:
Custom table settings are saved for different windows.
Views saved for request search results will be used in the next search and their setting is not affected by views settings in the specific person requests search.

Request log table

This smaller table located in the bottom left contains rows with the individual records from the Request log and the columns with details about those records. You can customize even this detailed table similarly to the Requests table.

Request detail

In the request detail (bottom right) you can display the more detailed information about the request divided thematically into five tabs described on the Request detail page.
