Analytical Database

Since performing data analysis and reporting over the production database in normal operation can slow down application responsiveness, we recommend that you create these analyses and reports over a separate analytical database.

On the SQL Server, create an analytical database (e.g. named ALVAO_ANALYSIS) from the current production database backup and lock it to read-only to improve performance. It is recommended to update the analytical database daily from the last daily backup of the production database, e.g. by a scheduled task. The scheduled task can execute e.g. a cmd script which you create according to the script template and edit the file paths on the disc and server and database names.

Under WebApp – Management – Settings – Data analysis then set up the analytical database connection.
